Renowned artist, teacher, mentor and master silk painterChristine Sutherland will teach the exquisite art of silk painting during this 3-week workshop.

Christine’s awe and respect for beauty grew deep within the majestic Rocky Mountains in a tiny lakeside town. Encircled by breath-taking landscapes, drawing and painting became her mode of expression. Ansel Adams Gallery was first to exhibit and sell her work. Soon other galleries followed, including locations in Hawaii, Florida, Arizona and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. With her workshops in demand, Christine continues to travel to new places of beauty, including Durfort, France. Currently living in Prescott, Arizona.

Teaching fellow veterans are very important to Stewart because of the camaraderie they all share reuniting in his class. His students will be learning to apply clay to a wire armature and discover the proper proportions of the human body. Veterans are so amazed at the end of class at just what they can learn and do with clay. No experience is necessary.

Sarge did three tours of duty in Vietnam, 1966-'67-'68. His first tour was eleven months in the jungle/hospital with the 101st Airborne Paratroopers as a combat infantryman. During that time he advanced to Squad Leader.

Sarge is a leading slam poet (performance art poet) in Arizona, and slam master, having hosted The Mary McCann Poetry Slam for over three years. He has been an organizer and national competing member of the Phoenix Slam Poetry Team from 1992.
